CAD / 3-D FILES

We are fully capable of accepting your solid model files and manufacturing your parts without the need of fully dimensioned drawings. But we do need some additional information that is not included in the solid model file. Below is a list of the files and information that we need, depending on whether your files come from SolidWorks or Non-SolidWorks sources:

SolidWorks

  • Part file (.sldprt extension)

  • Drawing file (.slddrw extension) or other document that specifies any of the following that apply:
    - part number and revision
    - material type and thickness
    - finish, plating, masking, painting
    - grain direction, part-mark
    - threaded hole location & thread size
    - special tolerances, critical to function dimensions
    - hardware location & direction
    - bill of materials
  • Assembly file (.sldasm extension) if we are doing the assembly or if hardware location and direction is contained in this file.

Non-SolidWorks

  • STEP file (.stp extension) or IGES file (.igs extension)
  • Drawing file ( .dwg , .dxf, or .pdf extension) or other document that specifies any of the following that apply:
    - part number and revision
    - material type and thickness
    - finish, plating, masking, painting
    - grain direction, part-mark
    - threaded hole location & thread size
    - special tolerances, critical to function dimensions
    - hardware location & direction
    - bill of materials
